This Privacy Policy explains how MELD Hair LLC ("MELD", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit meldhair.com (the "Site") or place an order. We keep this short and plain on purpose.

Information we collect
- Information you give us: name, shipping address, email, phone (if provided), and order details when you check out, plus anything you send us by email.
- Payment information: your card payment is processed by Shopify Payments through Shopify's secure, hosted checkout. We do not collect or store your full card number. We receive only a confirmation and limited details (such as the last four digits and billing ZIP).
- Information collected automatically: device type, browser, pages viewed, and similar usage data, collected through cookies and similar technologies. Non-essential analytics and advertising technologies load only after you consent (see "Cookies and your choices").
How we use your information
- To process, fulfill, and ship your order, and to send order and shipping updates.
- To provide customer support, including refunds and the Free Shade Swap.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site.
- With your consent, to measure and improve our advertising and to send marketing emails (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only with service providers who help us run the business, and only as needed:
- Shopify for our store, checkout, and payment processing.
- Shipping and fulfillment providers to deliver your order.
- Email and support tools to communicate with you.
- Analytics and advertising partners, only after you consent, to help us understand and improve our marketing.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect our rights, customers, or the public.
Cookies and your choices
Essential cookies are needed for the Site and checkout to work. Analytics and advertising cookies and pixels load only after you select "Accept" in our consent banner. By default they are turned off. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the consent stored in your browser, or by emailing us. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their settings.
California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
- Access and request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (see below).
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@meldhair.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request". We will verify your request and respond within the time the law allows. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
Do not sell or share my personal information
We do not sell your personal information for money. Under California law, allowing certain advertising cookies and pixels to operate can be treated as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We load those technologies only with your consent.
To opt out, simply select "Decline" in our consent banner, or, if you already accepted, clear the consent stored in your browser, or email hello@meldhair.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share". We honor browser opt-out signals (such as Global Privacy Control) where required.
Data retention
We keep order and customer information for as long as needed to provide our services, meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. We then delete or de-identify it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, and we rely on Shopify's PCI-compliant checkout for payments. No method of transmission or storage is 100 percent secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Site and our products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be posted on this page.
